A passion for helping people and a connection to horses has given Aubrey a natural interest in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Aubrey’s inspiration from horses began at age 10, through a lesson program where she began to learn to ride. At this time she realized that horses did much more then allow her to ride, they became partners. Through this partnership she was able to explore relationships, connections, emotions and learned how to care for something with love and compassion.
Aubrey graduated from Granite State College with a Bachelors of Psychology in 2012. After this she worked as a behavior interventionist with children in many different capacities. While supporting children with a variety of challenges she learned that counseling was a very important part of this position and also where her heart is. At that time she began her Masters Degree in Counseling at Springfield College. Upon completion of this degree in 2018, she worked in an alternative school where she was able to experience the integration of horses and counseling. This was a remarkable experience where Aubrey grew her passion for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Later, Aubrey began working as a therapist in a Pediatric office primarily with children and families. Quickly, Aubrey realized that her work could be much more meaningful utilizing animals. Aubrey went on to become licensed and open her own private practice. Currently, Aubrey owns Mountain View Farms in Topsham, VT where she supports people of all ages through equine related modalities. Aubrey enjoys working with people who struggle with issues related to anxiety, depression, and trauma. Aubrey also has a heated office on the farm for winter months or for people who prefer a more traditional setting.
In Aubrey’s spare time she enjoys living on a farm where she has horses, cows, chickens, dogs and cats. She enjoys spending time with family, riding her horses, and adventuring with her many interests. She looks forward to her coming years learning and developing with new people every day.
